The Suginami City is the birthplace of Ban-theBombSignature-Collecting Campaign.
In 1954, the women of Suginami City took the initiative in the movement
and collected 270 thousand signatures within the city in only two
months. The effort of these women led to regions to another and
collected 320 million signatures from around the world.
The exhibition will take place in Sesion Suginami, March 4th to March 9th, 2019. We will be showing campaign related documents and painted artwork called “petitions” done by Iri and Toshi Maruki, who are known for the art work of “Hiroshima Panels”. The exhibition is conducted by volunteers of various groups and individuals, collaborating to raise funds to make the event happen. We also have started crowd-funding campaign. We hope to gain more supporters to join for the success of the historical exhibition in Suginami City.
